CLUB NEWS

•  Nominations for Club Officers took place at the Sept. meeting, they are as follows: PRESIDENT - Bob Mabee, Joe Koetting, VP/SEC. - Joe Noffey , TOURNAMENT DIR. – Patrick Grady, TREASURER – Ron Kelly , YOUTH DIR . – Rob Goffredo, Andy Dolch, WEB MASTER – Don Florczyk , Mike Sheer , PUBLIC RELATIONS DIR . – Ralph Alexander. Officer Elections will be at the October meeting.

•  The Clubs last points Tourn. of the season is on Chaumont Bay Sun. Sept 25 th , Launch at 6:00am, Blast at 7:00am, Weigh-in at 3:00pm, the Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River are off limits starting midnight Sept. 18 th .

•  At the October meeting Tournament Dir. Craig Terpening will have the final results for “ Angler of the Year ” and finishing positions for all other Club members, this will include the top 12 Boaters and Non-boaters who will compete in the Club Classic (Oct. 9 th ), a location will also be picked for the Classic, and the top 6 Club members and 2 alternates for the CTC will also be announced , information for the Brian Rayle “Go Anywhere” tournament (Oct. 23 rd ) will also be provided.

•  The Citgo BASS Northern Open is being held on Oneida Lake Sept. 15 – 17, weigh-ins are from 2 – 5pm, SCBM is holding a Casting Kids Contest Sat. Sept 17 th , 10am-1pm at Oneida Shores in conjunction with the Northern Open , anyone interested in helping at either of these events contact Joe Noffey at 451-3852.

•  Mike Cusano has Raffle tickets for the NYSBCF's Banquet being held Dec. 3 rd . at the Quality Inn on Buckley Rd. in Liverpool, ALL tickets MUST be returned to Mike at the Dec. meeting, any questions about the Banquet contact Chairperson Joe Koetting at 638-6485.

•  Any Club member belonging to the OLA please send the Board members a letter with your thoughts on the proposed Catch & Release season, this also applies to the Regional Directors of the DEC, we need ALL the support we can get to help pass this agenda.

•  SPORTS SHOW, SPORTS SHOW, SPORTS SHOW, its that time of the year again to start thinking about it, Pat Grady is donating a Tackle Bag now we need to fill it !!!

•  Angler Diaries for Onondaga Lake need to be filled out and returned to the Dept. of Water Environment Protection OR use the link from the Clubs Web Site to fill them out on line.

•  The Club took up a collection for the Hurricane victims at the Sept. meeting and is looking into the best donation location !!

•  DON'T FORGET >>> New Fishing Licenses are due October 1st .

Club News from February Meeting

As of the end of the February meeting we have 71 paid Club members.

The Clubs annual Awards Banquet will be held on Sat. Feb. 26 th , starting at 6:00pm . Location and directions are posted on the back of this Newsletter. All Salt City Jr. Bassmasters are also invited, Awards to the Jr's will also be given out.

Information for the two new Officer positions (Web Master, Public Relations Dir.) are posted on the Clubs Web Site. Nominations were held at the Feb. meeting and are as follows: “ Web Master ” - Pat Grady, Bob Rudeau , “ Public Relations Director ” - Ralph Alexander, Andy Dolch . Elections will take place at the March meeting.

Nominations are open until Sept. 2005 for any one interested in running for a NYSBCF's Officer position, contact Mike Cusano for more information.

Amy Samuels from the Cornell Co-operative Extension will discuss the Water Chestnut problems in waterways across NYS at the March meeting.

Poor weather and sparse crowds did not make for a very profitable Sports Show this year. In lieu of this the Club will be depending more than ever on Sponsors, please make an effort to sign-up AND support Club Sponsors !!!!

Tourn. Dir. Craig Terpening has submitted all the Tournament rule changes to Mike Cusano , these will be integrated into the Tournament Rules that are posted on the Clubs Web site.

At the next NYSBCF meeting, Mike Cusano will report to the Fed.'s Board that Salt City Bassmasters support a $10.00 increase in Tournament entry fees, a Club vote was taken on this issue at the Jan. meeting.

Any Boaters fishing the NYSBCF Tournament Trail take note, the Liability Ins . has been raised to $300,000.

NYSBCF's Casting Kids Contest will be held at the Bass Pro Shop, March 5 th 10am-1pm , all kids participating will receive a 15% discount on any purchase.

SCBM's will be holding their Casting Kids Contest at Gander Mtn. on April 15 th 10am-1pm, anyone that can help contact Mickey Fortunato .

Thanks to Larry Arnold (Brinson Marine) for a very informative discussion at the Feb. meeting on boat, motor and trailer care in the Spring.
