Tuscarora Reservoir

We hit the water @ 5am. In the early morning darkness it
seemed like it was going to be a great day of fishing. Rob unloaded the
"love shack" of love shacks, while my friend Scott and I drilled
tip-up holes and rigged bait. As the sun began to rise, so did the wind. It
quickly became a day for the shantys. Rob had brought the jumbo "love
shack" just in case Cus & Terp showed, they did not. Shortly after
first light Pat and Joe did show up ready to fish.
Pat brought a big pot of chili/soup and a shanty for he
and Joe. I checked in on them occasionally and found Joe complaining about a
thermal problem with their shanty. It later became apparent that Pat held a
taste testing of the chili before he left home. Poor Joe, luckily the brisk
wind allowed Joe to survive the day. Everyone did love the chili though,
although it took me 14 beers to get the stinging sensation out of my tongue.
The fishing was slow throughout the day. Joe did show Pat
a thing or two about ice fishing though, he tallied a perch. Mean while Rob
boasted of several small perch and a 3 pound smally, of course we never really
saw any of these fish. He did drag the "love shanty" often, and
showed Joe a school of smallies on the camera. My self, well I tallied two rock
bass. Both with the fight of 6 pound smallmouth’s in the fall, and the size
of.....!
